The new Trek Fuel EX frame is completely new, much stiffer and lighter than the previous Fuel EX. The new triangle main frame is made from high modulus carbon with a process of fiber selection and stratification of the same called OCLV. This allows a frame with a carbon fiber is more compact, more resistant to mechanical stress, without air pockets, between layers of carbon and thus a lighter and stiffer frame. The same technology is applied to the realization of the triangle of the rear suspension, which is asymmetrical, with the top tube of the side chain, which follows a different profile, very low, just to avoid contact between the tubes of the triangle and the chain. The rear triangle connects to the shock via a connecting rod of magnesium alloy, while the same shock, by an additional rod below it is packed on both sides. This solution enables a better job of the suspension, which has a more progressive in its action. This means you can have a more soft and accurate information on short trips, improving comfort and traction, while the wide variation is more rigid, allowing well absorb the blows stronger. Is also neutralized the thrust of the pedaling action of the shock. This is a Fox Float RP-23, "trail tuned" with Trek DRCV, boost valve and ProPedal. The features of the system DRCV Trek is the realization of a double room in shock. While the main chamber works only at low and medium trips, the second camera is used to large excursions allowing better performance and ability to absorb shock from the shock itself. The travel of the shock is 120 mm. The series of steering is tapered with 1 inch and 1/8 and 1 inch and 1/2 berings. The fork has a travel of 120 mm and the axle for the wheel to 15 mm. It's a Fox 32 F-Series RLC Fit, fully adjustable and lockout on the handlebar. The rear wheel axle by 142 mm in length and 12 mm in diameter. New bottom bracket with the BB95 standard, a standard Trek, compatible with popular toppings and ensures greater strength and smoothness of the bottom bracket. The seat has a diameter of 31.6 mm. Five sizes available. The bike, in version 9.9, is assembled with the group Sram XX adopted in full, with wheels DT Swiss XM Tricon 1550. The XR3 Team Bontrager tires, 26x2.2. Stem, seatpost and saddle are Bontrager. With this configuration, the bike is priced at about Euro 6900. The price is aligned with the competition. This new model can be considered a Trek bike very good, better aligned with the competition, against which has different prerogatives. Excellent quality chassis and main components.

More than the good qualities of leadership that make it a perfect bike for hiking and mountain biking to 360 degrees, not disdaining even competitions, as long Marathon and 24H, where this bike can take advantage of a remarkable ride comfort, while being penalized by a higher weight to the Front and Full XC. In order to purchase a full, without any ambitions of competition and ranking, a travel of 120 mm can not have substantially limits, because you're not very heavy uphill and you can enjoy a good hike down to a do not need another amateur. The carbon frame and components adopted in this Fuel EX 9.9, then, also allow you to have a bike light, which facilitates both uphill and benefits, but also the most difficult passages where it is easier to control and guide the bike.
