Entry level MTB 29er comparison - 11th Part - Conclusion

As we have seen the entry level 29er mountain bike models have standard technical solutions and prices relatively close to each other. The real difference, in terms of quality and performance, makes the assembly and quality components.

In these models, it is good to focus on 3x10 groups, excluding the 2x10 and 3x9. The 2x10 end up having too long a metric development for actual weights of the bikes, all around 13Kg, better, a triple crankset, even better with a 3x10, new standards, while the 3x9 is now considered outdated. Canyon offers a good bike, but as the entry level is too expensive, the price/quality is excellent, but the price is probably too high for those approaching a 29er bike. Merida, however, offers half of a certain quality, mix with a few components, and a price that remains under the thousand Euro. How to price/quality ratio, very similar, then Cube and FRW, then comes Cannondale, which offers a competitive model and the lifetime warranty of the frame. Trek also very good model, followed by Bianchi and Specialized, quite expensive. Finally Orbea, expensive and with a 3x9 group and Giant, economic, but poor in quality.
