BicyclesBianchi to supply bikes to Androni Giocattoli in 2011
Legendary bicycle manufacturer company Bianchi signed a one-year deal (with option for a second year) with Androni Giocattoli to supply the Italy-based team with the new Oltre model. The agreement has been finalized in the Bianchi’s historical factory in Treviglio – Bergamo, on Thursday September 16, between Bianchi CEO, Bob Ippolito, and Androni Giocattoli general manager, Gianni Savio. Also sports director Marco Bellini and Bianchi's Felice Gimondi and Angelo Lecchi (leader of the product team) attended the signing of the contract. "We are proud of this new partnership for 2011 with Gianni Savio and Marco Bellini", Bob Ippolito said. “They have a long and successful history in professional cycling and we look forward to a prosperous relationship. We believe the team will help us to develop and improve our products through close collaboration with Bianchi Product Managers and Engineers. The riders, including talented Francesco Ginanni, will be provided with the new Oltre model, the flagship of the HoC collection, and we are very happy they will be the first to use this new frame". The Oltre is one of the best bike in the market's product range and definitively the best performance Bianchi road frame ever made. It stands out for maximum transfer of power, super rigid frame and X-Tex Technology to make it strong on the climb and stable in the downhill. "Oltre is the perfect bike for the Androni team whose riders are capable of performing at highest level. They are used to participate in key events such as the Giro d’Italia and the European classic races", Bob Ippolito added. Also Gianni Savio is very happy with the new agreement: “Bianchi is definitely one of the most prestigious brand in the sport. When you think at Bianchi your mind goes to Fausto Coppi, Felice Gimondi and Marco Pantani, to name a few. That’s why it’s a privilege for our team to ride the Celeste bikes and the Oltre model in particular”. “I also would like to thank Mr Ippolito for their preference to partner the Androni team”, Savio said.
