BicyclesCannondale 2011: Scalpel
Even the Cannondale Scalpel has been completely revised. The new Scalpel XC is full of more stiff, light and responsive in the world, according to Cannondale. The new Scalpel frame weighs only 1580 grams for the painted frame and full of shock. Although it is lighter than 340 grams, the new Scalpel is also much stiffer. All this adds to the System Integration Lefty, One Piece integrated stem and Hollowgram BB30 crankset. Zero Pivot technology allow the Scalpel blades to flex in one direction to offer 80 mm of progressive and fully exploited. Of course the blades are designed to flex vertically while maintaining only the lateral and torsional stiffness at the highest levels. The new frame is built in a quality carbon characterized by high levels of rigidity. Each tube is individually rolled so that the fibers are oriented to provide the best performance for specific loads they undergo. The tubes are then joined and wrapped. The bottom bracket and chainstays are joined directly into the mold to optimize the robustness of the combination aluminum/carbon. Support derailleur cable and the steps are fully compatible with SRAM and Shimano systems. The characteristic head tube Cannondale 1.5" higher rigidity. Sizes available: S, M, L, XL. The assemblies will be 4.
