Start a comparison of the main models of entry-level MTB 29er. Medium-low range bike in the price lists of the various Companies. Characterized by an all aluminum frame and a price of about 1000 Euro. After an analysis of individual models will draw a conclusion and a ranking based on the price/quality ratio.

Canyon Grand Canyon AL 29er 8.9

The Grand Canyon 29er frame is triple butted hydroformed aluminum. The headset is tapered and the wiring is internal. Feature, for Canyon, the shape of the vertical tube, called Maximus SeatTube, with the direct attack of the derailleur. The bike is assembled with a mix of Shimano/SRAM. Shimano XT is rear derailleur, Sram X0 is the front derailleur, Shimano SLX commands, the sprocket Shimano Deore 11-36, SRAM crankset 36/22, RX Formula brakes. The wheels are DT Swiss X 1800 and always DT Swiss fork XRM 29. The tires are Schwalbe. Stem and fold are Ritchey, while the seatpost is Canyon, the saddle is a Selle Italia Q-Bik. Pedals and bottle cage are not included. So assembled, the bike weighs about 11.2Kg and cost around 1499 Euro. Always known for its aluminum frame Canyon has made a great bike. Too bad about the mix of components. Very good frame rigidity and low weight of the bike. Apply the brakes, wheels and fork. He has an excellent price/quality, but must take into account only selling online and need to find a mechanic who wants to maintain a bike is not sold by him (some will refuse, others accept it is always work ...)
