BicyclesCannondale 2011: Jekyll
Back in the full list Cannondale Jekyll exploiting the new technology DYAD built from the synergy Fox - Cannondale. A simple lever on the handlebars allows you to choose between a platform characterized by a lower volume of air more suited to conditions typical of trail riding or a platform with linear curve characterized by large volumes of air to the most demanding situations. The change also affects the geometry setup of the bike and allows you to keep an optimal position of the rider to the ground. The DYAD is the first new shock absorber which provides two completely different damping options in one unit: High and Flow. Two volumes of air are two completely different circuits with independent cushioned compression settings and separate return. You may choose between two shock absorbers with a flick of your thumb. Flow mode of 180 mm and Technology L.A.S. (AirSpring Linear Technology) allows the shock curve completely identical to that of spring unit by integrating it with a circuit sensitive to changes in speed adjusted to give the best in more challenging descents. High mode volume of air is reduced and allows a more gradual curve, the damping circuit and 'optimized for trail riding and climbing. The scheme is also applied to Shock Pull Jekyll and positioned just above the mass absorber bracket holding the center of gravity low and centered in order to make the bike stable and highly reactive at the same time. The tight linkage of the shock using through pins on both sides to further increase the rigidity of the structure. The new frame structure is built in a carbon characterized by high stiffness and impact resistance. A structural Cannondale uses a mix of high value mechanical fibers and resins processed hot, extremely impact resistant. The high modulus carbon fibers are then strategically placed to increase the lateral stiffness of the frame. BallisTec Carbon is lighter and stiffer than aluminum longest steel. To maximize robustness in the zone subjected to mechanical stress more high, Cannondale puts the bottom bracket CNC machined before being molded to fit perfectly in the frame. The hoses in the shaping Smartformed have 7 different variations of thickness and are characterized by two-pass welding Cannondale style, all aluminum 6069 heat-treated. The axis passing through X-12 in combination with the dropouts offers the rigidity of the axis passing through 12 mm and any change is quick wheel typical of normal quick release. Clashnikov the tube has a flared joint at the steering column and is overbuilt at the head tube for maximum stiffness in these key areas of contact. The characteristic head tube Cannondale 1.5" increases the rigidity of the front and then steering precision by increasing the perception of safety. This also brings the bottle to a bike very versatile and has many points in common with the new model Claymore. The sizes available are S, M, L, XL. Three assemblies are available for carbon frame and two for the all-aluminum frame.
