A bike with high performance and good comfort
The frame Cervélo R3 Team has repeatedly won the Paris-Roubaix and won a number of podium and it is suggested as a means of light, stiff and comfortable. The frame is made from high modulus carbon fiber.
The tubes have Squoval section, a union of the mechanical properties of the oval and square tubes, square tubes with rounded edges, so as to combine the stiffness of square tubes with the weight of round tubes. The Smartwall realization, the same tubes, allows to remove the material in the less stressed and add the points where there is greater need for stiffness and strength. New tapered headset with bearings 1 inch and 3/8, which ensures optimum stiffness, comfort and weight reduction. New bottom bracket BB Right, which allows an improvement of the bottom bracket stiffness and confirmed the rear triangle tubes with high levels of small section, a solution that allows you to have a high degree of comfort, without reducing the stiffness and responsiveness of the rear triangle. Many of these technical solutions, such as the number of steering or "Ultra-thin seat stays" were introduced for the first time since Cervélo and then copied by competitors. The bike being tested assembled with the SRAM Red group used to complete with steering, brakes, crank, transmission, front derailleur, sprocket and chain. The 3T Doric Team seatpost, while stem, handlebar and wheels are Ritchey WCS. The San Marco saddle is an Aspide, the tires are Vittoria. So assembled, the bike has a weight of 6.8 kg, as observed with our instrumentation, in size 56.
