The road test

The bike we have been given for the test assembly with a medium/low, non-series. The weight found, however, highlights a bike that does its best weapon weight and shows how this frame should be assembled only with components from high range to get a competitive bike on the front of the weight. The actual weight of the frame should be well over 960 grams declared so, perhaps, a bit optimistic. That said, excellent as always, Colnago, quality of construction of the frame and its painting. Riding position is rediscovered, best of all Colnago, excellent. It now emerges a perfect rigidity of the frame, with rear stay very responsive and overall performance perfect, only limited weight in our sample. Rigidity and responsiveness of the frame seem to level the best competitors and associated with good comfort. Despite the way the bike had a perfect background there seemed comfortable, certainly better M10, tested just before on the same roads. This combination of rigidity and comfort, combined in a single frame is the main feature of this C 59 Italia. Features sufficient consideration on EPS, but that in this model are further enhanced, especially with regard to rigidity and responsiveness of the frame, while comfort may be considered. Excellent driving skills, with more precise steering, entry of the corners fast and good stability at high speeds. There is not, however, possible to verify the behavior on very bumpy roads and its stability at high speeds. Excellent, again, the stiffness of the fork and headset. As good as it seemed the bottom bracket stiffness, closing a high-level general framework. Assembled a group of peers and members of the frame can be competitive on every route. Compared Colnago M10, the C 59 Italia it seemed slightly less rigid, but the difference is minimal, but far more comfortable while driving characteristics are the same, but the C 59 Italia seemed easier to bring to the limit, certainly for comfort. Always in favour Colnago M10, weight, perhaps less than 100 grams. The price of the kit frame should be around 3800 Euro, depending on different markets (Italy is already on offer in Euro 3300). The bike is excellent, well maintained and finished, but remains an expensive and not entirely justified by the benefits arising, even if retained, as all the Colnago, a good assessment of the market. Satisfies the fans of the brand Colnago and all who seek a high quality bike and are willing to ship to have a "brand" of a certain exclusivity, and who looks at the relationship quality-price-performance, will do well to choose other brands which can offer similar services at lower prices. Compared to the previous EPS, the new model marks a further step forward in terms of stiffness and performance.
