Felt has renewed its entire range of frames XC Full, the new model Edict. The new frame is carbon fiber monocoque high modulus with Nano technology. Recall that the Nano technology better compacts the surface of carbon, filling with nanotubes the smallest carbon surface cracks, making the manufacture more rigid at the same weight. New is also the process of completing the frame, that provides increased surface quality of the inside of the frame itself, achieved through the introduction of special souls that are then removed, allowing a weight reduction for the same rigidity and thickness of the tubes. Another peculiarity is the realization of the triangle of the rear suspension, carbon fiber, which sees the removal of pins at the dropouts, so we obtained a greater lateral rigidity and less weight, while flexibility is ensured by the vertical correct design of the two tubes of high triangle, exploiting the characteristics and orientation of carbon fiber. Felt a system called FAST "Felt Stay Active Technology. The link of the suspension pivots in the vertical pipe and is made of light alloy forged. The head tube is short and ball bearing differentiated by 1 inch and 1/2 and 1 inch and 1/8. Of a steep sloping top tube and a generous section, wide and high near the head tube and the smaller section near the pipe, which houses the seat diameter of 30.9 mm. Good sized bottom bracket from the standard classic. The bike is available in four sizes and three different assemblies. The Pro model is the basis of the range. The shock is a Fox Float RP23 BV, Pro Pedal, fully adjustable, like the Fox F32 fork. For both the suspension travel is 100 mm. Seatposts, stems and handlebar are made of aluminum, manufactured by Felt, as the saddle. The group has adopted the Shimano XT 3x10, adopted in full, with 11-36 cassette sprockets and brake discs 160 mm in front and behind. The XT crankset has the classic crowns 24/32/42. Wheels are Shimano XT and are always complemented with Continental tires 26x2.0. So assembled, the bike will cost about 4700 Euro. The new Felt Edict introduces interesting new techniques and is, without doubt, a top-level frame. Arises, as technical solutions, halfway between the classic Full, with normal pins, and the most extreme Zero-Pivot, like the Cannondale Scalpel: lighter than the first, just heavier than the second. The advantage of the solution Felt is a greater sensitivity of the rear suspension, compared to the solution Zero-Pivot, which however does not reach the level of the classic wishbone all made bearings. It's a bike destined to competition, which is able to give their best, as long stage races, the Marathon or 24 Hours. Just Whether for the rigidity of the frame and rear triangle are successful and useful. Recreational use, however, the benefits are greatly reduced to zero. The price is higher than some competitors because of the XT group adopted the complete and exclusive frame. A bike of high quality, competitive in the race, which will also make the happiness of those who will use it only for fun.
