Focus has renewed its range cyclocross with the introduction of a new carbon monocoque frame with high modulus. The new Mares CX-1 frame keeps the characteristic of many Focus, which is the difference in diameters and thicknesses of the tubes according to the different sizes, so as to maintain the weight/stiffness and not going to penalize the weight, in sizes smaller, and rigidity, in the larger sizes. The frame adopts the BB30 bottom bracket standard and dedicated full carbon fork, with legs straight. The steering has the classic set of bearings from 1 inch and 1/8, with very short head tube, while the vertical pipe has a seat on the extent of 27.2 mm. The seatpost is the 3T Doric Carbon, very light, just as light is stem 3T ARX Pro and 3T Ergonova handlebar. Well-sized down tube and the area immediately after the head tube. Well designed the area between the rear top tube, seat tube and top tube. The group has adopted the Sram Force, while the brakes are Avid Ultimate Energy FSA BB30 crankset and 46/36, while the sprocket develops in 11/28. The saddle is a Prologo Scartch Pro, while the wheels are developed by Focus with carbon rims and tires Schwalbe Rocket Ron Ages. So assembled, the bike weighs about 7.8 kg and a cost of 2999 Euro. A good medium/high cyclocross bike. While, in fact, not reaching the scales and the refinements of other products, though more expensive, is based on an excellent frame, rigid and lightweight for the category. Good general components, which leads to a high price but not very high. The weight is competitive, the components that have been adopted, and may fall further assembling the bike with other products. As it is, already has a high degree of competitiveness in order to compete in high-level events and with good athletes. Considering the excellent basic frame, however, who really wants the top half will do well to buy the frame kit and proceed to assemble a bike from starting SRAM Red with crankset Truvativ XX, components 3T, Team or LTD, wheels tubular. So there will be a more expensive bike, but lighter and more able to compete at any level, even worldwide.
