The new Syrah 29" has an aluminum frame triple butted hydroformed 7005. The odds are specific to the 29" wheels, with a low center of gravity and a short head tube. The down tube and horizontal were shaped to better accommodate the fork and front wheel, maintaining a height comparable to that of a bike with 26" wheels. The sloping top tube has a heightened profile to assist the women, and it connects almost directly to the rear, which remains compact while leaving ample space for the wheel. The bike is available in two configurations, Shimano Deore/Alivio and 9v XT / SLX 10v. In version Deore/ Alivio the fork is a Manitou Tower, with lockout. The number of steering the FSA, as the stem, the handlebar and saddle, all aluminum. Bottle cage is made of aluminum and series with the bottle and pedals. The wheels are assembled with Shimano Deore hubs and Mavic rims, while tires are Geax Aka 29". The saddle is a Selle Italy Q-bik xc flow. The handles are Ritchey. The group is adopted for the Alivio front derailleur, controls, 11-34 the sprocket, the crank and chain. The rear derailleur is XT. Disc brakes Hayes Stroker Ryde. The bike comes in four sizes and in the one white. Weighs 12.8 kg, as observed with our instrumentation.
The road test
The new Syrah 29", for the same admission of FRW does not want to be a product specialist, but a 29" MTB mountain bike for a lighter and not binding. The design features is good, there is the desire to create a good half at a competitive price. The components chosen are good for hiking use of bicycles, which certainly does not arise as a means of competitions. For amateur assembly, even in the simplest configuration Alivio/Deore, is more than good. Excellent frame geometry that does take a position in the saddle and in control without having the center of gravity shifted significantly upwards. Good controls and seat. Moving you appreciate the typical characteristics of Mtb with 29" wheels. The weight of the bike and wheels, the good smoothness, slowing down the acceleration, but then it is easy to maintain a certain speed, thanks to the effect of fly wheels. Coupons the tire and fork, not particularly sophisticated, but suitable for amateur use. In off-road route in reality little technical and difficult, revealed the positive features of the 29" wheels, with a large easy to overcome small obstacles, turns even more driving comfort and greater speed. Excellent handling, cornering with inputs fast enough for a "big wheels" 29 ", and obviously very accurate. Always perfect and profitable exit from corners where you can fully exploit the leverage of the wheels, losing a little speed àèand being able to quickly return to a high speed. A perfect bike paths on fast, sweeping bends and with little technical. It is not suitable agony, but for everyday use and in walking or bike paths on flat, hard and with funds sliding and streets full of wide turns. In such conditions, a bike with 29 "wheels can be more competitive in a 26". Excellent overall comfort. The price of the bike is around 1.250 Euro, a competitive price for the category.
