Rumors: 2012 Merida Carbon Cross Disc Team

Merida Bikes will expand its range of cyclo-cross bike, with the introduction of the new disc brakes.

The frame Cyclocross Carbon Team, presented at Eurobike 2010, will be updated with a new fork, ready for disc brakes and a new rear triangle. The peculiarity of Merida is in fact the adoption of the braking disc for the rear wheel will be the first cyclo-cross bike with disc brakes completely. The frame remains unchanged in its structure, as well as cables, protected by a rubber cover that allows for easy and comfortable transport of the bicycle in the shoulder. Again, the adoption of the braking system includes a control unit and a command of the SRAM Red brake calipers with a cable. Even in this case, the discs should have a diameter of 140 mm, while the wheels are assembled with DT Swiss hubs. Remain the same other characteristics. The weight seems to be interesting, if it were real, full disc implant step would increase the weight of the bike only 100 grams. The new bike will be presented at Eurobike 2011.
