The Orbea Alma was reconfirmed in 2011, after significant makeover last year. The new monocoque frame has pioneered the development of new model Orca road, tense and edgy with a profile of the various tubes and a new approach to the design of the frame. This is made by high modulus carbon, as Gold, while the Silver version is a high modulus. The head series has the steering bearings to 1 inch and 1/8, while adopting the standard BB30 bottom bracket. The headstock is a good size and the down tube, a large cross section, presents a series of stiffening ribs that make it more rigid. The tube has a flat shape and sharp, near vertical tube forms a fold that connects directly to the rear top tube. This has a large pipe section, but always look sharp. The frame has a declared weight of 1050 grams, slightly more than the latest models of about 900 grams. The frame is available in four different sizes and two colours. The bike is assembled with the group Sram XX complete with controls, brakes, crank 26/39, 11-36 sprockets, chain, front and rear derailleur. The fork is Rock Shox Sid XX. Stem, handlebar and seatpost are Orbea OC-III, while the saddle is Selle Italia SLR XC Gel Flow. The wheels are Mavic Crossmax SLR. The pedals are Time Attack Carbon XS. So assembled, the bike is priced at about Euro 6599. The Orbea Alma has repeatedly demonstrated his extreme competitiveness of each path, a bike very stiff and responsive, not extreme in weight, as some competitors, but very competitive on every trip. Excellent assembly proposed, all of high quality. A perfect bike for the agonist, but with its quality and reliability, even for the amateur who is willing to spend a considerable amount without doubt though in proportion to the value and performance of the bike.
