The Ridley Noah has always embodied the figure of the Aero bike and was the forerunner of a new line of models to which, then, competitors have been inspired. The new evolution Fast Brake, takes another step forward in aerodynamic research, but also in the brake system.

An innovative project, which has absorbed all the energies of Ridley, so that is the only real news of 2012 for the Belgian Company. The new frame maintains the aesthetic forms of the previous Noah, made from high modulus carbon fiber 40Ton and 50Ton. Unchanged the down tube, horizontal and vertical, judged excellent in terms of aerodynamics and weight/rigidity ratio, is the new BB30 bottom bracket, while the headset remains unchanged, bearings 1 inch and 1 ½ inch and 1 / 8, considered the best solution for maximum rigidity. The new fork keeps the profile F-SplitFork (which improves the aerodynamics of over 7% compared to a traditional fork) and receive the new F-Brake brake system, which exploits the flexibility of the carbon fiber to achieve total integration The aerodynamic profile of the fork, reduce weight and improve braking power. The same solution is applied to the rear brake. The braking system F-Brake results in improved aerodynamic performance of more than 2%. The braking system is made of four different types of carbon fiber, laminated to obtain the optimal flexibility and rigidity. Present a system with spring and screw for alignment of brake pads and a quick release system. The same double wing profile of the fork was incorporated in the rear triangle. Remains the F-Surface, surface treatment that allows the air blowing to remain attached to the frame surface, improving aerodynamic performance by about 4%. Compared to the previous Noah, aerodynamic performance has improved by 2.10%. The bike being tested is assembled with the SRAM Red group, used for commands, sprocket, gear and derailleur. The chain is KMC, while the Rotor 3D crankset is oval chain rings. The saddle is San Marco; stem and handlebar are Deda Elementi. The wheels are Fast Forward, with high profile rims carbon fiber, aluminium braking track and Vredestein tires. So assembled, the bike has a weight of 7.2Kg in size S.
