The new 2011Scott Genius LT (Long Travel) is a completely new model from the carbon fiber frame. The frame is a monocoque high modulus carbon fiber, which has a very compact and the sloping triangle marked. For the realization of the frame is a construction technique that was used IMP5 named Scott, this is made in a single proceeding all the main triangle of the frame which saves about 11% of the material, unchanged reliability and rigidity. The headstock is short, but very hard and a good size, thanks to the headset cone and plenty boxed area that combines top tube, head tube and oblique. The bottom bracket area is well sized and equipped with Press Fit Standard. New link rear suspension light 3D forged alloy wheels and new suspension is the triangle, a double thickness of aluminum, with rear axle with 142x12 mm. Adapters are provided for use by pins 135x5 mm and 135x12 mm. The rear brake is Post Mount, located inside the triangle of the suspension, for superior rigidity and be more secure. The frame, including the damper has a weight of 2.8kg. The rear shock travel is 185 mm, which can be reduced to 110 mm. The new shock Scott Equalizer 3 was developed in collaboration with DT Swiss and has the distinction of being set to three different positions: travel of 185mm (All Travel) travel of 110mm (Traction Control) and closed (Lockout). The different positions of the shock to the handlebars are easily adjustable via the command TwinLoc Scott, which allows you to close range and shock, leave or place the cushion on both traction control and keep out of the fork. The shock is positioned behind the seat tube, a position that ensures, according to Scott, a better balance of the bike. The fork is a Rock Shox Lyrik RLR plus, fully adjustable and with adjustable travel of 180 or 140 mm, the wheel axle is 20 mm. Stem and seatpost are Syncros AM, while the seatpost is a Rock Shox Reverb. The saddle is Selle Italia. The bike is then assembled with the new SRAM X0 3x10, including front disc brakes with 203 mm and 185 mm rear. The sprocket is a 12-36, while the crank to chainring 22/33/44. The wheels are DT Swiss AM10, complete with tires 26x2.4 Schwalbe. The bike has assembled such a declared weight of 13.6 kg. The list price is 5699 Euro. The new Scott Genius LT, looks like a pure freeride bike for the long suspension travel, but with good versatility thanks to the adjustable travel that make it even pedaled uphill. For weight, content for the category, but not insignificant, is presented as a more devoted to bike down, but also manages to be pedaled uphill. It's more suitable, then, to those who like the descent, but that does not have access to the ski slope or the possibility of reaching the highest point in the car. àèùIn these cases, therefore, the Genius LT allows the climb with relative ease, it was not fast, but good relationships, and rightly so short, allow to reach the summit with some ease, just a little later than able to do with other models with less MTB Full travel and lighter. Downhill, then emerge the benefits of long travel suspension and powerful brakes. For the category weight is low and the assembly is of good quality, consistent and reliable products and excellent performance for the use to which is apart, the model. The price has risen in proportion to the quality of the model examined and the competitors assembled in a similar way. The other models of Genius LT are cheaper, but heavier, good for the the lucky ones who have access to the lifts and do not require light bike for the climb.
