The new Specialized S-Works SL3 is based on the new Roubaix frame, which has been completely revised from the previous model. New carbon fiber, now equal to that used on the S-Works Tarmac, was named FACT IS 11r. Change the method of realization of the same frame, even in this case is equal to the model Tarmac SL3, in fact, now is made with different types of carbon fiber, more or less rigid and flexible, which have been arranged according to different mechanical stress accorded to various parts of the frame. As in other works, so we tried to improve lateral stiffness, important for the transmission of power, and maintain good vertical flexibility, which allows a good absorption of vibration and improve ride comfort. The new system of construction of the frame, in addition to better mechanical properties of carbon fibers used have led to a reduction in weight of about 100 grams, which now falls under the kg, 965 weight declared. The frame has a relatively long head tube, more than the model Tarmac, bearing and 1 inch and 1/8 above and 1 inch and 3/8 below. A This is associated with the new full carbon fork with upright stems and seeds Zertz elastomer inserts. Zertz inserts, many people are a prerogative of the Specialized Roubaix models, long-tested races in Northern Europe have shown, in fact, able to absorb vibration than without prejudice so obvious vibration. The same Zertz inserts are placed in the top of the rear tubes, which have a small section and remain split until it joins the seat tube. This solution improves the comfort. The horizontal tubes of the chain stay, however, have a high profile, especially near the bottom bracket, just to improve the transmission of power to the rear wheel. The tube keeps the curved profile, already characteristic of the previous version and that too to the improved ability to absorb the vibrations of the profile, compared to a classic perfectly straight. Good section of the tube and the well sized bottom bracket. The seatpost has a diameter of 27.2 mm and also in this case has a Zertz insert. The cables run inside. Also unprecedented is the crankset Specialized S-Works carbon fiber, ceramic ball bearings and carbon fiber spider, 50/34 crowns taken. Yet unpublished new S-Works SL Carbon handlebar, anatomical and carbon fiber. The stem is always Specialized S-Works aluminum 3D forged and coated carbon fiber. The saddle is always Specialized Body Geometry Avatar Team. The group has adopted the Shimano Dura Ace, adopted in full and sprocket 11-28. The wheels are Shimano Dua Ace Tubeless Carbon, low-profile tubeless tires with Specialized S-Works Turbo Tubeless, 700x23. In the photo gallery, note the model equipped with a Shimano Dura Ace Di2. The frame kit costs, no seatpost, Euro 2299, the assembled bike Dura Ace 6499 Euro, while the Shimano Dura Ace Di2, coast, USA, 9400 Dollars. Six sizes available. The evolution of the new Roubaix SL3, this bike has led to a very high degree of competitiveness and the static view of competition, can be considered the new benchmark in its class. In this sense, the prices, though high in absolute terms, are adapted to the technical characteristics of the product. The competition, now offers bike assembled at lower prices, but they can not boast the same quality assembly and the same innovative solutions in the implementation of the frame. In addition to the same performance in terms of weight/strength/comfort. For these reasons, the new Roubaix SL3 is at the top of the class of bike racing is not extreme, or more precisely than bike racing and giving up a small percentage of stiffness and a few grams of weight are much more enjoyable on the bumpy and long- distances. Adopted by professionals in the long Classics of Northern Europe, are ideal for home use, so comfortable and very good performance.
