The new Specialized Allez Comp 2011 is based on a completely new frame. Named E5 is hydroformed aluminum, lighter and stiffer by 20% compared to the previous model, so that Specialized communicates a lateral rigidity value close to that of Tarmac SL3. New series of tapered steering with bearings 1 inch and 1/8 above and 1 inch and 1/2 below. Also new is the fork with aluminum head and legs straight carbon fiber. The frame follows, then, the geometry of the known Tarmac SL3, with a large section down tube, a horizontal and slightly arched, very compact and a rear section of the tube contained. The cables run outside, while there isn't a frame kit. The bike is assembled with the Shimano 105 group adopted in full, with front and rear derailleur, crankset, sprocket, chain, brakes and controls. The wheels are assembled on Mavic rims, Specialized are tires to 60TPI. The seatpost is made of aluminum covered with carbon, 27.2 mm in diameter, the saddle is a Specialized Body Geometry Riva Road. The stem and the handlebar are made of aluminum, more Specialized. Note that the stem can be adjusted to four different positions. So assembled, the bike has cost about 1459 Euro. It's a good entry level model, good overall performance. The frame is the most competitive, no doubt deserved a group of components and higher level. Overall the bike is quite good and has the ability to easily upgrade, such as wheels, excellent adoption of Shimano 105 group, as 2011, complete, and, as always, is perplexing the high use of components Specialized. For this reason, perhaps, the price could even be more competitive. A bike that is at ease on every path and aligned, performance, key competitors in the industry.
