Specialized unveiled the new bikes Venge.

The project was born five years ago when, quite by accident, it was decided to modify a Transition with a classic road handlebars. From this brief test, very positive, the idea of combining the aerodynamics of a Transition with rigidity and lightness of the Tarmac. In 2009, the first frames were made of tests and the subsequent test in a wind tunnel and on the road leading to the establishment of the excellent features of the frame. This project has also led to an important collaboration between Specialized and McLaren, who helped with his experience in F1, to further improve the characteristics of Venge. Through the use of technologies and materials belonging to the F1, it was possible to further reduce as much as 100 grams, the frame is, as McLaren. Venge The Aero does not want to be a bike, but a racing bike without compromise, extreme in its performances in terms of lightness, stiffness and aerodynamics. The S-Works Tarmac is regularly at the top of the range road, but now there is a new collection "Complete Performance" when you place this Venge. For the time is given to teams Astana, HTC Highroad and Saxobank Sungard, as Venge McLaren. The new S-Works Venge frame is made of high modulus carbon S-Works FACT 11r. The head tube has tapered bearings for 1 inch and 1/8 inch above and 1 and 3/8 below. The cup of the upper bearing is integrated into the frame and aerodynamics. The seatpost is dedicated and can have a setback of 10 mm, can also be rotated 180 degrees to have a setback of 0 mm. Also in this case falls in all UCI regulations. The rear triangle is compact and has seatstays wing profile. The frame has a weight, including Specialized S-Works carbon crankset, is 2179 grams, much lower than all direct competitors (Cervelo S3, Ridley Noah, Felt AR1 2011). Specialized always said the best levels of stiffness to weight ratio than its competitors. The bike frame is available in kit form and assembled like a bike with Shimano Dura Ace adopted in full, with Specialized S-Works carbon crankset 53/39. The saddle is Specialized Body Geometry Romin, the stem is S-Works ProSet, while the handlebar is S-Works SL Carbon. Roval Rapide SL 45wheels are. Six sizes available. The Specialized version S-Works Venge + McLaren will be available from autumn 2011 and features a lighter frame of about 100 grams and stiffer by 10%. This result was achieved through the use of different techniques of carbon fiber, their F1, and a new analysis of the workloads of the different areas of the frame that allowed an improvement in stiffness and weight of 15 %.
