Even though it was by less than a year Specialized would be ready to update so heavy its Crux CX cyclocross bike.

The new model, which will be officially presented at Eurobike 2011, has many changes from the current Crux CX. First we will introduce a new range that will allow the mounting of a front disc brake. This will have a diameter of 140 mm. The command of the front caliper is mechanical with a mixed group Sram Red for commands and Avid BB7 caliper. This solution, taken up by other prototypes that we have seen, is necessary given the current lack in the catalogue of a couple of commands to Cyclocross hydraulic disc brakes. However, we lack that will soon be filled, as this is not the only cyclocross bike with front disc brake. Even for the front wheel at the time, it argues for a custom solution with Mtb hub for disc brake and rim road. Obviously it is said that the final version of a wheel may not be created for this nonspecific Crux CX Disc. The frame then receives a series of updates. The main difference is the internal cable, and now both rear brake and front and rear derailleur cables, have a special passage inside the frame. Not herald news, however, in the composition of the carbon fiber which is made of the frame and geometry.
