BicyclesRumors: Specialized Tarmac S-Works SL4?
Specialized should have ready the new heir of the famous S-Works Tarmac SL3. Currently this model does not know almost nothing, but until now has been the commercial policy of Specialized renew its flagship model, every two years, with a preview of the Tour de France, in the hands of top athletes. Nothing suggests that this year Specialized abandon this "tradition". In addition, the presentation of the new Venge requires greater differentiation of the current model, though there should be no substantial changes, but a refinement of the current global Tarmac SL3. In particular, taking advantage of the experience with the design of Venge McLaren should change the rolling of carbon fiber making for a slight reduction in weight and a small increase in stiffness. It should then be updated of the tapered headset from 1-1/8 +1-1/2 with the new standard 1-1/8 +1-3/8. New fork so it will be too. Should still be reviewed steps of the cables and it is conceivable that the new Tarmac SL4 is adopted a solution that integrates the internal cable, single group Dara Ace Di2 and traditional groups. Remain unchanged, however, the current geometry, the non-integrated seatpost and bottom bracket standard. With these changes, which do not upset the project Tarmac, the new Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL4 will be perfectly in line with the performance of new high-end bike 2012. More details will be at Eurobike 2011.
