2012 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR

 

Specialized has issued other technical details of the new Stumpjumper FSR 2012.

The frame is carbon fiber Fact 11M. The rear suspension uses the new system autosag, which allows an automatic adjustment of the shock absorber according to cyclist weight. The rear suspension also uses the system Brain Fade, which automatically adjusts the compression hydraulic shock absorber according to ground conditions. In the closed position, the shock is stationary allowing for maximum pedalling efficiency, but the moment it receives a strong stress the Brain valve opens to work leaving the shock. It will be available in versions with 26 and 29 inch wheels, as well as with the aluminium frame M5. The bottom bracket is of type BB30, while the headset is tapered.

Each size has a specific geometry and EVO models are introduced, with special components to address the most challenging descents, and with flat bars and larger tires, different suspension settings and geometry specific. New Roval wheels which provide carbon fiber rims in the S-Works version.
