A bike with good performance and great price
The new Specialized Tarmac SL4 is the natural evolution of its predecessor Tarmac SL3, using the experience gained in the design and development of Specialized Venge McLaren.
The new frame features a weight of less than 50 grams compared to the previous year, while the rigidity was improved by 19%. Tarmac SL4 Pro version is distinguished by the type of carbon used (FACT 10R) compared to the S-Works version (FACT 11R), then comes a slightly heavier frame, this must be added the heavier components. The geometries are equal to those of Venge and updates the set of differential steering bearing 1 inch and 1/8 above and 1 inch and 3/8 below. The cables run inside, even the new fork, the fork just thinner, lighter and straight. New section of the tube and horizontal. Unchanged the vertical pipe that houses a 27.2 mm seat post from. The tube keeps the classic profile slightly arched, and is a good size tube. The rear triangle is compact, with large horizontal tubes of the vertical section and thinner, modified for greater comfort. The dropouts are carbon. The bike is then assembled with the SRAM Red group used to complete, except for the crankset Specialized and Sram Rival brake; Roval Fusee SL are the wheels, tires Specialized, stem, handlebar and seatpost Specialized. The saddle is Romin Pro. So assembled the bike has a weight of 6.7 kg, as observed with our instrumentation.
