The Company

The Technical innovations of 2009

Several technical innovations introduced by Gaerne range in 2009, some of which will mark the history of new shoes. First is a new laser-perforated uppers. The range Gaerne 2009

The road range Gaerne is completely revised with the adoption of new technical solutions. The new shoes G. Myst are the new "Top of Range" and the exclusive G. Kangaroo Limited, shoes made in honour of the Australian champion Cadel Evans, have been updated with new technical solutions. Then we have the G. Fora, adopting many of its solutions G. Myst, but without the adoption dell'Hell Grip or leather insole. Then we have the G. The Gaerne G. Nova we test

The G.Nova is available in four different colours: Black, Silver (the shoe's test), White and Red. For all the soles is the Evolution Sole, black for the Silver and Black models, white models for the White and Red. The sizes available are differentiated according to colour: Black is the model available in sizes from 37 to 48, the Silver model from 41 to 46, the White model from 37 to 47, the Red model from 41 to 46. The sole can accommodate any type of cleat and is scheduled for practical signs of reference, in addition to the heel, not interchangeable, rubber grip. The upper "Air Ventilation System" is perforated Lorica laser seamless if not in the front where it is planned between the two sides, right and left. The road test

G. Nova shoes while out of a purchase price of real content are made with a craft really care. It can be seen already from the beautiful upper Lorica, with well-made graphics and the many ventilation holes. The graphics, in fact, conceals a little merit that it had no seams, but not matter. The sole is also done well, but mainly stuck to perfection the upper, very difficult, if not impossible, to do better. The few seams present at the tip of the shoe, the heel on straps are carried out properly. The interior is well cared for, as is the perfect realization of anatomical insole. Yet perfect and the padded tongue pierced and the closed system of the three straps Safety Lock Strap System. From anywhere in the shoe will transmit to the general sense of quality that is very difficult to observe on competing products, and never on this price range. Class Italian flag placed at the side of the shoe and the discreet words "Made in Italy" on foot with an Italian flag to witness a manufacturing entirely made in Italy. All right then? Basically yes, also seen the cost of purchase, but we remind the two things that we are less convinced: the hell back and points of reference for the positioning of cleats. The first is well done, a soft rubber that makes a good grip on the ground, but not interchangeable, which is still common on the shoes cost well over, and might be a little higher to overcome fully the evidence stones also in this case, the competition is no better. Regarding the points of reference for the placement of cleats could be better positioned, and the outer rods are longer, even in this case it is a fact that does not least the quality of the product, given that competitors are even worse ... All practical note, there are major problems in the placement of cleats, you need only do a little attention, nothing more than to proceed normally. The fit is excellent, but above all is to be excellent comfort inside the shoe. The upper inside is soft and comfortable, perfect stuffing heel. The sealing of the three straps the Safety Lock Strap System, patented by Gaerne, is the best ever for cleats always ensuring a proper closing of the shoe, the stability of that closure and perfect voltage regulation of cleat. On the move shows just the characteristics of this model, although not a top range, performance was really good and unexpected considering the purchase price. The rigidity Gaerne Evolution Sole is more than good and you should be really powerful for athletes to want a greater rigidity. The majority of cyclists, and then, if not virtually all, can find all the rigidity of the sole which sought, plus an excellent comfort over long distances, thanks to the foot, which is perhaps not "actively encourages the foot of the cyclist" (! ) as promised in the Gaerne’s catalogue, but without doubt it is comfortable and provide good aeration of the foot. If the stiffness of the sole is very good, just lower side, however, far superior to direct competitors, and always able to meet the demands of most cyclists. The heel is comfortable and well able to contain the foot, but who really takes a ride round, will find here the only weak point of this shoe. While tightening the three strong straps the foot, under strength, has never fully stopped inside the shoe. Again, however, the behaviour is far better than other products of equal price and you should apply a really strong and ride round to want a better product. In exchange, the comfort over long distances is a level that would cause us to forget in these small. The ventilation of the shoe, finally, there appeared to be more than excellent, but we must admit that we have tested over a period so hard that some hole in less than we would have done airing comfortable ...

Conclusions

We have criticized several points in these shoes, but who had realized he was looking at shoes at the fair to the great wrong. By placing this product in its price range, about 100 Euros, and technology, close to three straps, plastic sole, we can not but admit that we are facing more than a shoe with good performance and well above the direct competition and often also the top end of many competitors. The stiffness of the insoles and the containment of the foot is on a level more than good for the class, practically at the top. Is still very good comfort, especially over long distances, and we must admit, is the perfect realization of the shoe material and the quality of the products used. Unfortunately we must admit that we have not been able to thoroughly check the system for ventilation, but we felt it was more than excellent.

The price

The Nova G. have cost around 99 Euro including VAT: could not do better. Ultimately, after considering the performance and quality of the product it is a very cheap price.

Are suitable for

Athlete: certainly are not the shoes for an agonist mature, but for those approaching hours the bidding can go more than good, it will take time for them in crisis.
GF cyclist tourist: the perfect shoe for cycling, high quality, but not expensive, comfortable, durable and finished with care.
Women: for women suggest the model G. Starlet specifically for women.
