Polar 2011: Keo Power

Polar and Look present the new pedal Keo Power, a system of pedals to detect the power generated by the athlete. The system was born of a joint research of Look and Polar which involved the technicians of the two Companies for many years. The biggest difficulty was not technical, but to achieve a reliable product offered at a competitive price.

The starting point is the Look pedals Kéo2 Max in which pin, steel, have been included eight power sensors. This allowed a high precision of the system, with a tolerance of only 2%, and comparable, and in some cases better, the systems currently on the market. Sensors for detection of power, capable of detecting power up to 2000 Watts, is then associated with a data transmitter to be connected to the crank, so very simple, noninvasive and small. The same notes the cadence. The two transmitters are connected to the pedal axle where the sensors receive signals power.

The data is displayed on the Polar CS600 cycle computer, CS600X and CS 500. Remain unchanged from the previous Polar CS600 Power, the possibilities of analysis of training, by Polar ProTrainer5 program and the ability to instantly see running many important data, including point out, the instantaneous power, the index of the balance of ride, pedaling efficiency and a series of data that can help improve their performance. The whole system weighs 448 grams and will be on sale in early 2011, both retailers look to Polar. Price around 1500-1800 Euro. Confirmed, finally, the rest of the 2011 Polar range.
