 We continue the discovery of high-visibility products that help improve the safety of the cyclist.

 
Rudy Project Sterling helmet is available in various colors: white and blue, fire red and fluorescent yellow, this last choice is the one that provides the best passive visibility. The housing is made with the In-Moulding construction technique, which allows considerable savings in weight without sacrificing strength of the shell itself. The construction of the outer shell material is polycarbonate, while the interior is made of polystyrene. The two parts are made at the same time, exactly according to the In-Moulding technology. The shell has 18 ventilation holes and a series of structural reinforcements, also made of polycarbonate, which increase resistance to impact the same reinforcements also form a special glasses. The helmet is equipped with rear wheel adjustment system, retention system, adjustable to three positions, and loop strap system for quick and precise adjustment of the straps, lockable operated by a slider on the move. Two liners, made of hypoallergenic material and anti sweat Skin Touch, with or without anti-insect net, removable and washable. Standard series removable visor, which are attached directly to the helmet. The strap is made of polypropylene, while the chin is microfiber. Two sizes available: 54 to 58 (S/M) and 58 to 61 (L). In size S/M has a declared weight of 275gr., we detected 280 grams with our instrumentation.

The road test

Rudy Project Sterling helmet stands out immediately with its fluorescent colours, but this is not the only feature of this model. The implementation of the helmet is really high level, with a very high design features. Excellent finish outer shell, perfect areas of conjunction between inner and outer shell of the helmet. Excellent control system, easy to reach and adjust, even by bike. Easy to adjust the length of the straps. The good always helpful and very good chin, the presence of the padding summer, winter and faceplate for Mtb. But lacks the helmet bag. Excellent quality of fabric in the interior. The weight is not contained, but corresponds to what is stated and aligned to other helmets that offer a similar level of quality, both in thickness and extent of the shell, and the quality of the interior. Remains an issue, however that can not convince lovers of light, but to achieve certain standards of comfort and safety is inevitable to achieve similar weights. In movement appreciates the excellent comfort of the helmet that comes from a combination of positive factors. The excellent sealing system allows a perfect stability of the helmet, both on the road in Mtb. Excellent ventilation thanks to a good number of holes in the shell of the helmet and the proper conformation of the same, with the air that enters and leaves the helmet with ease. Good then the interior, very soft and comfortable. Useful to enter through opening his glasses into the helmet, once removed, so as to reassure them on a regular basis. Also perfect safety and instills a sense of protection that a helmet, thank you, in this case, the weight content not allowed to build a broad canopy and enveloping. Excellent visibility is that you always be well regarded, especially in winter. In conclusion, a good helmet. Perfect for its passive and better visibility for construction quality, comfort and safety. Use it well on the road and mtb. The only flaw may be considered the weight, not content, but still aligned with other products that offer similar standards of safety and comfort. Excellent rate of about 119 Euro, lower than many competitors and competitive itself.
