Among the items of the Winter 2010 collection, the collection Dart is perhaps the most extreme, that is equipped with a better capacity to adapt to harsher weather. The shirt: The long sleeve Dart (exact name FW2160 75 Dart) is made of Thermastat Thermoroubaix, a fabric with excellent thermal insulation capacity, but also breathable. On the back, shoulders and hips are expected Simplet inserts, a lightweight fabric that provides freedom of movement, but also a high transpiration of the skin. There are three rear pockets and reflective piping transfer applications, to ensure maximum passive visibility on hips shoulders and elbows. The Jacket: The Dart jacket (correct name FW507 75 Dart W266) is made of Windstopper Soft Shell, a breathable fabric that remains constant body temperature and provides effective protection from the wind. The Windstopper fabric is a W.L. Gore ensures excellent breathability, combined with a high protection from wind, water and snow. This allows for proper evaporation of body sweat and avoid the wind, passing the tissue, cooling the body. Doing so creates an optimal microclimate, technically the fabric is formed by three different layers, including outer and intermediate assure the vapor permeability and waterproof outer body to the wind, water and snow, the inner one, however, provide for the comfort thermal and wearability, thanks to its constitution soft. That makes the item grow old with difficulty, both for the look and for the quality of the materials with which it is made. For the "maniacs" of the weight reported as compared to the previous track Terra, which we tested last year, has gained a few grams of weight (about 50 people, including overalls and jacket), not bad. The overalls are wearing very well, lacks the zip in the bottom of the trousers, but the elastic tissue facilitates the dressing, while noteworthy is the inside soft and very "hot". Lacks the silicon at the bottom of trousers, but the stretch fabric prevents any unwanted movement of the item. There is no "bib" front. Even the shirt is worn with ease and its elastic fabric allows a custom fit to the body. Perfect is the maneuverability of the zip, and even better the inside soft. The three rear pockets can be reached easily and are large enough. Even the jacket repeats the same positive feelings of the other two products, with a fabric soft and comfortable, adheres well to the body, thanks to the parties to stretch fabric and closed the zip, thanks to the neck, it was completely "sealed" by environment. In the silicon jacket is missing in life, but if the size is right there is no danger that the same goes back through the back stretch fabric, which makes the head sticks well to the body. Obviously, the size must be the right size. The wind is easy to zip drive and large rear pocket is large and easily accessible. Sadly, there is an open pocket without zip, for storing the things that are more ready to use, such as energy bars or gels of various sugars. The saddle can be appreciated immediately the comfort offered by the pad Santini Gel Intech, an "old" knowledge: excellent. Little cluttered, but can best absorb any vibration, absorbs sweat very well and avoids the buttock soreness even after hours sitting on saddles very hard. Furthermore resists over time and remain soft and comfortable, when washed and treated well, so what we found on other animals very "lived" with the same pad. The comfort of the fabric of the leotard is perfect and its elasticity allows for a smooth ride, without any constraint. Plugs into the knee further improve freedom of movement without compromising the ability to maintain body heat. The Windstopper fabric, has shown its quality, perfectly isolating the cold and especially the wind. This latter aspect is effective in the long descents, where the decrease of body heat is reduced because of the perfect isolation from the air that is able to obtain the tissue. Even perspiration is excellent, which is evident on long climbs, where the Windstopper can evaporate quickly the body vapor. Even braces are great, do not bother, and the back is made of a fabric that can quickly trasfer sweat out. A very warm overalls and suitable for harsher weather, when the temperature is consistently below 10 degrees. Under these conditions reveals a great product and a positive trend compared to the Terra that we tested overalls (which remains in production, albeit with a different name, even in the collection 365). Compared to the latter has been moved even further the level of thermal insulation, breathability and comfort while remaining unchanged, then the new Dart model is more suited to those who suffer the harsh climate or cycling even in the most extreme conditions. The long-sleeved shirt Dart was another pleasant surprise and can be used as a vest to be put under the Jacket Dart or alone, when the temperature is less rigid. Again the quality of the fabrics chosen and stitching results in considerable comfort, due both to the type of soft fabric, the seams do not irritate and perfect adhesion of the mesh to the body. The wide area on the back fabric Simplet leads to excellent breathability, as it is perfect accessibility pockets. The zip is operated with ease, while the high neck provides excellent protection from the cold. Temperatures above 15 degrees can easily be used alone, while between 10 and 15 degrees can be used in conjunction with a good thermal underwear. Good, moreover, the ability to maintain body heat during the long descents or in the presence of strong wind. The absence, in this case, of silicon has not created problems, the overall elasticity of the mesh allows the same can always be close to the body. The Dart jacket completes the "set". Windstopper fabric island to perfection by the wind and the inside ensures a pleasant sensation of warmth. The insert on the back at Simplet allows excellent breathability and does not seem to affect the ability of insulation, even on long descents, which is always well protected. Compared to the previous jacket Earth, even in this case, there seems to have a high degree of thermal protection and wind resistance. In fact, even with temperatures below zero degrees, reached on long mountain descents, protection from wind and cold is always good. This did not go to the expense of breathability of the fabric that always allows for easy evaporation of sweat produced by the body. Again the absence of silicon in life has created problems with the jacket that remains firmly in place. The only negative, finally, the absence of a pocket without zipper to easily store and take various supplements or energy bars, but it is also true that with winter gloves is not easy to put your hand in a small pocket. That is the big back pocket, with zip, remains useful and easy to use even with gloves more padded. Conclusions It is hard to find fault with this complete that ranks among the top leaders for winter clothing. From materials of the highest quality (without resorting to cheaper alternatives) Santini has managed to improve the already excellent performance of the previous Terra. Breathability, thermal insulation and impermeability to air levels are good for all three garments tested. The long-sleeved shirt may have a wider use, since the first timid cold, the entire track, coupled perhaps with a good thermal underwear, pressed to deal with safety and comfort of the harsher climate. The absence of silicon rubber on we noticed that it is irrelevant, perhaps the only flaw is the lack of a back jacket pocket without zip, but this is a marginal and dubious value, with heavy winter gloves. In conclusion there is really hard to find a flaw in a track that is among the best ever between the item for winter.
