Shimano wind breaker wins iF Product Design Gold Award

The SHIMANO ACCU3D R wind breaker has been selected for a prestigious Gold Award at the iF Product Design Award 2011 ceremony today at the CeBIT trade fair in Hannover, Germany. This year, 1.121 participants from 43 nations competed for an iF product design award, submitting a total of 2.756 products for adjudication by an international panel of experts. Only 50 of them were selected to receive an iF gold award.

The wind breaker weighs only 63 grams and can be stored extremely compact for easy transport in the back pocket of a cycling jersey. It features a very good water-repellency and a very high tear resistance that makes it suitable for intense riding conditions. Available in black and lime green. This wind breaker was also selected for a “Eurobike Award” at the Eurobike show in Friedrichshafen, Germany in September 2010.

The iF product design award covers all areas of product design. It serves as a platform for design-relevant innovations, thus recognizing today’s globally networked world and its related dynamics. Since 1953, the iF product design award has been recognized as a label for good design.
