CompetitionsHTC-Highroad locked and loaded for Tour de Suisse
HTC-Highroad fields a strong team of seasoned riders for the 2011 Tour de Suisse on Saturday. After a three-week break from racing, HTC-Highroad's Matt Goss will be back in the hunt for stage wins in the Tour de Suisse, which starts this Saturday with a short 7.3 kilometer prologue in the city of Lugano. "I'm going really well and I'm looking forward to seeing what I can do in the Tour de Suisse, which is a race I've never done before," Goss said, "After the Tour of California, my last race, I've done a big block of training, my race weight is good, and I'm feeling fine." "Together with Mark [Cavendish], we'll be looking for at least one stage victory and coming away with some sort of success." "Michael [Albasini] showed in the Bayern Rundfahrt and again in the the GP Kanton Aargau that he's in great shape for his home race, Tejay [Van Garderen] had a great Tour of California and Peter Velits is coming into top form after his injuries in April," adds HTC-Highroad sports director Allan Peiper. "That means we've got three guys for the overall and some great all-arounders like Bert Grabsch, Bernie Eisel and Martin Velits for the teamwork." "Mark and Matt worked really well in last year's Tour of Spain sprints, so we've got that area wrapped up too. All in all, it's a very strong team."
