Spaniard Alberto Contador (Astana) is just a day from being crowned as three-time overall in the 97th Tour de France which went today over its twentieth, penultimate stage with 52 kilometers of flat, specialists-suited individual time trial from Bordeaux to Pauillac, in which Fabian Cancellara (Team Saxo Bank) was the only one clocking a time below an hour and a minute, taking the win over HTC-Columbia's Tony Martin and Bert Grabsch. Meanwhile, the FOOTON-SERVETTO-FUJI team took its second-to-last ride just before tomorrow's triumphal march to Paris, as their five contenders completed in good rhythm what was an easy test, with no turns, almost no blowing winds in the morning window and any weather difficulties that allowed big timetriallists to shine on top of the board. The race will take the high-speed TGV to the metropolitan area of Paris on Sunday morning, before doing the last 102 kilometers from Longjumeau to the Champs-Élysées, where the sprint showdown should be the day's outcome.
