Jamis/Sutter Home Pro Cycling Team Announces Roster for First Race of 2011 Season

The Jamis/Sutter Home Pro Cycling Team is opening the 2011 season with the grueling Vuelta de Chile. The UCI 2.2 event, which begins January 27th and concludes February 6th, covers more than 1,200 kilometers (745+ miles) through 11 of Chile’s 15 regions, including an ascent to 2,400 meters.

The Jamis/Sutter Home squad will be led by Ignacio Pereyra, a native of Argentina who finished fourth overall at last year’s Tour de San Luis. He will be supported by fellow Argentineans Anibal Borrajo, who finished 5th overall at the UCI 2.2 Rutas de America in Uruguay, and newcomer Fernando Antogna, a former national track champion who has also achieved impressive results in Latin American stage races.

"All of our riders are motivated to race hard," said Directeur Sportif Sebastian Alexandre. "Our squad was touched by tragedy in the off season. But we are ready to move forward and look forward to putting Ignacio on the podium."

Jamis/Sutter Home roster for the Vuelta de Chile:

· Fernando Antogna (ARG)

· Anibal Borrajo (ARG)

· Nicolas Frey (USA)

· Andrew Guptill (USA)

· Ignacio Pereyra (ARG)

· Tyler Wren (USA)

The 2011 Vuelta de Chile marks the return of one of South America’s most prestigious stage races after a four-year absence. Held annually since 1976, the current edition of the Vuelta de Chile will begin in Arica at the northernmost tip and travel the length of the country before concluding in the capital city of Santiago.

After the Vuelta de Chile, the Jamis/Sutter Home squad will return to the US to begin the North American racing season with the San Dimas Stage Race from March 24-26.
