The Tour of Qatar and Tour of Oman both take place on the Arabian Peninsula, but each presents a different challenge for the BMC Racing Team, says Directeur Sportif John Lelangue.

Wind Always A Factor

New to the Tour of Qatar is a two-kilometer individual prologue. "Qatar always has a big selection on the road due to the wind with pretty fast stages," Lelangue said. "Oman is totally different because there is a six-kilometer climb to the finish on one stage and a long time trial (18.5 km)," he said. "So we know time gaps will not only come from splitting the peloton and bonifications, but also from those two stages." Sprinter Alexander Kristoff said he has recovered from a nasty crash at the Santos Tour Down Under. "I expect to have better form than I did in Australia," he said. "I hope some days I can make the first split in the crosswinds and then sprint for a stage victory."
