Cycling Pro Road & MtbClassica Sarda Will Test BMC Racing Team Sunday
The BMC Racing Team will look to several riders coming out of the Giro di Sardegna to step up as leaders for Sunday's Classica Sarda Sassari-Cagliari. Rolling Terrain BMC Racing Team Assistant Sport Directeur Max Sciandri said Mauro Santambrogio, Johann Tschopp and Ivan Santaromita will be protected in the 194 km race. "It will also be interesting to have a look at young riders like Yannick Eijssen and Tim Roe," Sciandri said. "I think the winner is going to come out of a breakaway again this year." Chris Barton, making his first start of the season, said: "It's rolling terrain all day, so it will be tough. The average speed was more than 48 kph last year, so that's really fast."
