Cycling Pro Road & MtbEvans Ready For Vuelta a Catalunya
The BMC Racing Team enters the Vuelta a Catalunya with world No. 1-ranked Cadel Evans focused on winning the seven-day race that begins Monday. Stage 3 Is Key But even with a stage win and the overall title at Tirreno-Adriatico in hand, Evans said he doesn't consider himself the favorite. "It's a different style of racing in Spain," the former world champion said. "It'll be more for the pure climbers. I'm going good on the short climbs, but these are longer and steeper. Tirreno-Adriatico, with a few hard finishes, short climbs and a time trial, was a bit more suited to me." Directeur Sportif John Lelangue said Stage 3's mountain-top finish will be key. "For us, Cadel's win doesn't change anything; but the other teams will be looking more toward him now," Lelangue said.
