The original jerseys of the Champions of Cycling worn by the cyclists during Milano-Sanremo, Tirreno-Adriatico and Volta in Catalunya will put up to auction on the site www.all1sport.com to raise funds for Japan, hit by the terrible tragedy of the earthquake and tsunami that have caused thousands of deaths. This is the initiative promoted by the world of cycling that doesn't want to remain indifferent to what happened to the Japanese people. Among the promoters of the beneficient auction there is the Japanese Champion Takashi Miyazawa (Farnese Vini – Neri Sottoli) who has immediately moved to give visibility to the initiative and involve a lot of people passionately fond of cycling: "I'm happy and excited for this initiative, started by chance during a chat with the boys of the agency of Sport Management A&J; I have expressed them my personal sorrow for the difficult period that my Country is living. I am here in Italy, but my countrymen are spending a tragic period, and I can't be happy, not even thinking about my participation in Sanremo, the first of my career. So I want to turn this event into something in support of my country. The solidarity of my colleagues touchs me and I can only thank them for their strong feeling that they have shown me". The initiative, started a few days ago, has already gathered a lot of agreement among cyclists. All the bigs have accepted to auction their jerseys, whith the number still attached to the back. Among them there are the World Champions Thor Hushovd, Fabian Cancellara and the best italian cyclists, such as Vincenzo Nibali and Ivan Basso of Liquigas Cannondale; Filippo Pozzato of Katusha; Stefano Garzelli of Acqua & Sapone, Alessandro Petacchi, Michele Scarponi and Damiano Cunego of Lampre-ISD. Even the not italian cyclists have not hesitated to accept with enthusiasm this proposal: Alberto Contador of Saxo Bank, Andy Shleck of Leopard Trek team, Juan Antonio Flecha of Sky Team, Mark Cavendish of HTC, Tyler F arrar of Garmin, Philippe Gilbert of Omega Pharma, Cadel Evans of BMC, Tom Boonen of Quick Step, just to name a few cyclists, because this auction really picks up the membership of the best cyclists in the world. The support, moreover, has come also from the teams, that have tried to involved the major part of their cyclists to give strength and completeness of this important event.
