Cycling Pro Road & MtbHTC-Highroad women's team armed and ready for San Dimas
The women of HTC-Highroad have finished their pre-rides for the San Dimas Stage race tomorrow with a focus on gaining a good position out of the first stage individual time trial. After a good look at the circuit and the road race course, sport director Jens Zemke is optimistic. "The girls looked good in training, and they should have the legs for tomorrow," Says Zemke, "If we don't get ahead out of the ITT, then we can only go for stage wins- but I am confident that we can gain a position to defend." "We have Amber [ Neben ] with us who is a former world time trial champion, as well as Chloe Hosking who has had three wins this year already. Also, Amanda Miller has had two wins this year and rode well with Ally [ Stacher ] as we saw in Merced, so our line up is well suited for this race. " "The course for tomorrow won't be easy," says Miller, "A 3.8 mile hill climb to around 1400 feet will be challenging, but all of us are in good shape and very exited to be racing so we're not intimidated." "There is some strong competition for tomorrow, Kristin Armstrong and a few others we need to look out for," Says Zemke, "But if the weather stays decent and our girls from overseas [Hoskings, Colclough] are well rested I think we can start San Dimas off with a bang."
