Shimano Europe Group donates to earthquake victims

Shimano companies in Europe will make this month a total donation of 150.000 Euro to local Red Cross organizations to support the earthquake victims in Northeast Japan. Besides, each Shimano employee in Europe was invited to make a voluntary donation to the Red Cross as well.

This contribution follows a donation of 100 million Yen (around 850.000 Euro) by Shimano Inc. headquarters in Sakai, Osaka, Japan to the Japanese Red Cross Society and winter clothes worth of 30 million Yen.

Also the other Shimano sales offices and Shimano employees around the world are contributing substantial amounts to the victims of the devastating earthquake and Tsunami.

Marc van Rooij, President Shimano Europe Holding B.V. comments: “We wish to express our heartfelt sympathy to the many thousands of people affected by this disaster and sincerely hope for a safe and swift recovery.”
