Quick-Step Cycling Team to Brabantse Pijl

Wednesday, April 13 will officially open the second part of the classics season, with the 51st edition of the Brabantse Pijl, which will wind along a 200,4 km route from Leuven to Overijse.

"This race signals the passage from the cobblestone classics to undulating classics with more challenging altimetry" Sports Director Rik Van Slycke says "wrapping up with the Liège-Bastogne-Liège on April 24. The group of athletes participating in the Brabantse Pijl is made up of a well assorted mix of young riders and more experienced athletes. We've been working with them hard, first during our training camp and then with a series of important races like the Volta a Cataluña and the Vuelta al Pais Vasco. We've been getting some good signals. We've managed to figure well in breakaways and in the Pais Vasco Vandewalle barely missed a full result, reaching second place in the next to last stage. On Wednesday even Malacarne will be back in the game, after having recuperated from his fall in the Ronde Van Vlaanderen."
