Cycling Pro Road & MtbAlberto Contador: “The victory will be the final sum of tomorrow's result and the time trial”
The second stage of the Vuelta a Castilla y Leon ended with Fran Ventoso’s second victory at the sprint. Alberto Contador arrived safely in the peloton and is waiting to see what happens tomorrow, in the queen stage, where leaders will play a large part of their options in the final triumph. “It is a soft climb, I remember it from 2009 when I was helping Levy Leipheimer, who was then my teammate, but you can not make much difference there”, said Alberto. "Victory in this race", said Alberto, "will be the final sum of tomorrow’s result and Saturday’s time trial. Tomorrow is a good day for many riders, there are tough rivals such as Tondo, Igor Antón, Coppel and some more. After these two first days, said Alberto, “my sensations are good, but not super. Tomorrow we shall see, I'm not at top, but I hope to be with people in the front". In today's stage, Contador highlighted the work of Saxobank-Sungard. “I'm happy because my team has been extraordinary one more time. We had to take full responsibility, as usual, almost to the finish line. I wish other teams work as well, but hey, I give a 10 to my team”.
