Cycling Pro Road & MtbQuick-Step Cycling Team to the next races
Quick-Step Cycling Team has announced the names of the riders who will be participating in the Belgian National TT Championship next August 15th. "The National Championship route is challenging and technical," explained Sports Director Tom Steels. "There are lots of curves, brief stretches where it will be important to relaunch the bike, and narrow roads. We did a recon last week with Van Impe and Vermote, pedalling on the route for about 80 km. Van Impe is motivated and in good shape. For Vermote the race will be important to understand how far he can go in this kind of competions. He’s still young and it’s only fair that he’s trying to improve and refine his techniques on a time trial bike. For Vandewalle it will be a good test after the fine time trial performance he had in the last stage of the Giro d’Italia." On Tuesday, August 16th, part of the team will also participate in the Heusdenkoers Circuit race, also in Belgium. The competition entails 23 laps for a total of 168 km. Last year, this race’s victory went to Wouter Weylandt, whose loss earlier this year we are still mourning.
