Cervelo TestTeam race preview

16-Jun-2010: While the Tour de Suisse is in full swing, the women will compete this week in two three-stage events, the RaboSter Zeeuwsche Eilanden and the Giro del Trentino.

Women’s Team

Our fastest women will participate in the RaboSter Zeeuwsche Eilanden, from June 17 to 19 in the Netherlands. The first stage will kick off in Vlissingen, and the competition will be concluded after three days in Westkapelle. This race is made for sprinters, while the Giro del Trentino Donne is something for our climbers. From 18th to the 20th, this difficult race will be held in the mountainous Trentino region of Italy.

"The Giro del Trentino is the ideal preparation race for the Giro Donne, which is held in early July in the northeast of Italy,” said Egon van Kessel, Sports Director of Cervélo TestTeam. “Last year Carla Ryan (AUS) was on the podium at the Giro del Trentino, and the year before Claudia Häusler (GER) made the jump into the top three. We hope we can repeat these good results there. But also at the RaboSter Zeeuwsche Eilanden our team will show a good performance. Kirsten Wild (NED) has especially good memories, as she won the tour in 2006 and was second in 2008."
