Cycling Pro Road & MtbBMC Racing Team ready for Tour's early challenges
Any day of the Tour de France can be decisive, but BMC Racing Team Directeur Sportif John Lelangue said world champion Cadel Evans and the rest of the squad is ready for the challenges the first week holds. Strong Support For Evans A windy Stage 1 (Sunday) and the cobblestones of Stage 3 (Tuesday) pose the biggest dangers of the race that begins Saturday. "But we're confident that we have a strong team around Cadel," Lelangue said. "We have experienced guys on the cobblestones - especially Alessandro Ballan, Marcus Burghardt and George Hincapie. We know Cadel has the ability to find his way on the cobbles, especially having been a mountain biker." The team did special reconnaissance of Stage 3 in April, Lelangue said.
