While the men head into the last week of the Tour de France, the women are participating in the 23rd International Thüringen Rundfahrt in Germany. Women’s Team From July 20 to July 25 a strong women’s team will ride in the 23rd edition of the popular International Thüringen Rundfahrt in the central eastern part of Germany. The six-stage race between Altenburg and Zeulenroda includes an individual 23.3 km time trial. The young team is focused around the two German natives Sarah Düster and Charlotte Becker who are looking forward to having one or the other achieve a podium finish. "We are going to Thüringen with a very good team, despite the fact we will be without the three riders (Kirsten Wild –NED, Claudia Häusler –GER, and Emma Pooley-GBR) who have won many races for us this season,” said sports director Egon van Kessel. “The goal, for a lot of our riders in this race, will be a top placement in the GC. We come with a team of riders who are as strong in the time trial as they will be in the hills of Thüringen.”
