Cycling Pro Road & MtbCervèlo TestTeam Race Preview
The Vuelta a España will be the main focus in racing this week as the last of 2010’s three Grand Tour’s begins on Saturday. The men’s team will also ride the Tour du Poitou-Charentes and Châteauroux Classic de l'Indre Trophée Fenioux while the women’s team will take part at the Omloop Door Middag Humsterland. Men’s Team August 24 to 27 a squad from the men’s team will participate in the Tour de Poitou-Charantes. The team has good memories from the 2009 edition when they won top team ranking and had two stage wins with Thor Hushovd (NOR) and Heinrich Haussler (AUS). The Vuelta a España kicks off on Saturday August 28. Cervélo TestTeam’s nine-rider strong team is focused around Carlos Sastre (ESP) and Thor Hushovd (NOR) and ready to tackle the challenge of the last three week country tour of this season. The team is working for a stage wins and to help Sastre reach the podium in the overall ranking, where he was been three times before. The courses seem to fit him and a strong support team is behind the leader. Meanwhile with the Vuelta underway, a couple of TestTeam riders will be racing in France at the Châteauroux Classic de l'Indre Trophée Fenioux. It is the first start for the talented stagiare Daniel Teklehaymanot from Eritrea in the Cervélo TestTeam outfit and we are confident he will provide great support for the team during this 201.7 km one-day-stage-race in France. Women’s Team Another World Championship race is on the women’s schedule this week, on Saturday August 28 with the 7th Edition of Omloop Door Middag Humsterland in the Netherlands. The 133 km long race is a favorite of Cervélo TestTeam’s Kristin Wild (NED) who likes both the course and the competition having finished second in 2004 and then winning it in 2006. An interesting race is in store.
