HTC-Columbia wraps up incredible week of wins around the world

In the past 9 days, HTC-Columbia's men's and women's teams have demonstrated their trademark strength through the final weeks of the pro racing season. The team won two stages at the Vuelta a España, four stages and the overall at the Tour of Britain, two stages and the overall at the Giro di Toscana, and exciting victories at Belgium's Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen and the GP Isbergues in France. The team raked in 12 wins, the Vuelta's coveted green points jersey, a Grand Tour podium finish, the team's milestone 100th win of the 2010 season, and two stage-race overall victories.

Highlights of the week included the international team's triple triumphant day, winning stages in Britain, Spain, and Italy in a single day, Mark Cavendish bringing home the Vuelta's green points jersey, and a Grand Tour podium finish with Peter Velits finishing third overall in the 65th edition of the Vuelta.

"The HTC-Columbia men and women have enjoyed one of our best weeks of racing ever," commented team owner Bob Stapleton. "It comes from the talent and personal commitment of each one our athletes and staff members. This kind of continuous success is only possible through tremendous teamwork."

With 389 wins since 2008, the HTC-Columbia men and women now set their sights on World Championships in Australia.
