Tomorrow, October 14th, Team QUICK STEP will be taking on the roads of the Gran Piemonte, the Italian race that precedes the Giro di Lombardia, the end of season classic that has its finish line on Como Lake, on Saturday, October 16th. Dario Cataldo, fresh off his win in the GP Beghelli, will not participate in the Gran Piemonte. At the moment, the Team QUICK STEP rider is suffering from a pesky bout of the flu.

"Under the advice of the team’s medical staff - explains Cataldo - I’ve decided to skip the Gran Piemonte to try and recuperate and be able to line up at the starting line for the Giro di Lombardia. Tomorrow we’ll evaluate my situation further. It’s too bad because my physical condition is good, as I proved by winning the GP Beghelli on Sunday. I hope my participation in the end-of-season classic won’t be compromised by this bug."
