TX Active-Bianchi continue building 2011 roster

Following the addition of new signing Gerhard Kershbaumer and Tony Longo, President Felice Gimondi and team manager Massimo Ghirotto continue building 2011 powerful team by confirming Portuguese Ricardo Marinheiro as well as French Stephane Tempier and Italian Cristian Cominelli.

19 year-old Marinheiro will form a very strong pair together with Italian Kershbaumer as they respectively claimed the second and first podium positions at last year’s Junior World Championships in Canberra (Aus). They already showed their class in 2010 as Under23 and are expected to significantly improve and achieve good results during next season.

Tempier and Cominelli’s experience will be an asset to the TX Active-Bianchi team. Tempier enjoyed one of his best season in 2010 by taking six wins, including the final classification at the Internazionali d’Italia challenge and numerous podium positions in international events. Italian Cominelli started the season with a well-deserved victory in the Under23 cycle-cross national championships and managed to achieve seven MTB wins, including the last race of the year on home-soil.

"Tempier and Cominelli renewed contracts with our team and we confirmed Marinheiro as we are focused on our pursuit of creating a highly-competitive roster", team manager Ghirotto said. “We will have a pretty young team and our aim is to be in the action in the World Cup series and in the other international events. Tempier showed everyone he is one of the strongest biker in the international panorama and I feel confident he will improve looking forward too the 2012 Olympic Games". Also Cominelli is expected to do well: “Cristian will face his first season as Elite rider and he is set to switch from cycle-cross to MTB activity. He grew up with the Bianchi team and we rely in his capabilities".
