Cycling Pro Road & MtbPim Ligthart signs two year agreement with Vacansoleil – DCM Pro Cycling Team
Team manager Daan Luijkx and Pim Ligthart agreed on a two year contract for 2011 and 2012. Until 2008 the rider from Twisk was active on track and road. Since 2009 he fully aims for the road. In the spring of 2010 the talented rider left a good impression with top-3 finishes in U23 World Cups La Côte Picardie and the ZLM Tour. In his first race as a Trainee with the Vacansoleil PCT he finished 5th in a stage at Tour of Denmark. Early October Ligthart did the U23 world championship, a crash in the beginning of the race kept him from finishing. Daan Luijkx is happy with the rider from Noord-Holland: “Pim is allround, his choice to race for a French team shows he is willing to invest in a career. After riders like Hoogerland, Poels, Westra, van Leijen and Ruygh is Pim again a young and strong Dutch rider who must be capable to keep up with the pros in year one of his contract.”
