Cycling Pro Road & MtbTX Active-Bianchi confirm 2011 official team’s roster
TX Active-Bianchi MTB team will rely on a five-man team for 2011 off-road season, as new signing Gerhard Kershbaumer and Tony Longo have already joined forces with Stephane Tempier, Cristian Cominelli and Ricardo Marinheiro to complete a young and powerful team. Colombian Leonardo Paez and Julio Caro, and TX Active-Bianchi have mutually decided to part ways as the two marathon specialists have already returned to home country. After a truly successful three-year relationship with TX Active-Bianchi, multiple national champion Paez will try his luck at road events looking forward to completely recover from the accident he suffered later this April when he reported a fracture at left hand. Since then he didn’t manage to compete at highest level on off-road courses. “We’ve enjoyed a very good time with both Leonardo and Julio and we are grateful for their commitment to our team”, team manager Massimo Ghirotto stated. “The TX Active-Bianchi team is proud to have had this two solid bikers in the roster and we wish them all the best for the future”. TX Active-Bianchi, equipped with the Bianchi Methanol SL model, closed 2010 season with 15 victories and numerous podium appearances. The team is now committed to prepare the next season with a formidable squad including some of the most talented young riders at international level to continue 2012 Olympic Games’ ambitious project. The average age of 2011 team’s roster is only 22.
