Today at the inauguration of the new velodrome in Astana, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr Nursultan Nazarbayev has met the riders of the Astana team led by Alexander Vinokourov. They had all made a special trip to the capital city, Astana.

The president said he was very proud of this complex very modern which is expected to host major cycling events in the years to come. "Now you have everything in hand to succeed in your projects, he said to Alexander Vinokourov and to the riders who offered him the official team’s outfit. We have managed to create the best team in the world in recent years and we are delighted of what you make for our country. "

Giuseppe Martinelli, Sports Manager of Team Astana has also talked with Mr Nazarbayev after offering him a bike Specialized. The president admitted that during his recent visit to Kazakhstan, Silvio Berlusconi has been impressed by this new velodrome.
