J. Stew, Inc. to manage USA Cycling’s Women’s National Development Program

USA Cycling is pleased to introduce J. Stew, Inc. as the new manager of its Women’s National Development Program.

Directed by former professional racer Jackson Stewart, the company will manage USA Cycling’s Women’s Development Program from the USA Cycling house in Lucca, Italy. The goals of the program are to drive growth and education, and develop the next crop of world-class American female cyclists.

"Our Women’s Development Program is among the top national team programs in the World. Our expectation going forward is to continue providing the same opportunities for American women to experience and learn the demands of the European peloton," said USA Cycling’s Director of Athletics, Jim Miller, who ran the women’s program for eight years before moving into his current role in 2009. "That vision requires sound leadership, and Jackson has the necessary knowledge and experiences to lead this program into the future."

Stewart, who raced with the BMC Professional Cycling Team from 2007 to 2010, gained valuable experience in world class races like the 2009 and 2010 Paris Roubaix. The former pro is also an accomplished racer here on the domestic front, having won stages in events like Superweek and the Redlands Bicycle Classic. He also has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from San Jose State University.

"I’m looking forward to working on the other end of professional cycling," said Stewart. "I have worked with some great people as a rider and am hoping to use what I’ve learned from them in my new position."
